God ordained the Feast of Booths, known today as Sukkot, so that Israel would remember that He had made them dwell in booths during their 40 years in the wilderness. That's why we are camping together! We will build and decorate a community sukkah together, so bring decorations to share (Dollar store and construction paper crafts are great!)

Learn more about Sukkoth

Here are some Sukkah decorating ideas to get you started

  • Lake Houston Campground, New Caney, TX (map can be found when you register)
  • You can come for day camp or overnight camping, but please register so we can make sure you can get through the front gate for free
  • Group camping is tents only and free, RV sites available separately
  • 8 campsites available, 2 tents allowed on each site, 8 people per site
  • Central covered pavilion for our use, we'll do lots of activities there, and that's where we will spread out the Torah to celebrate Simchat Torah!
  • Check your camping gear! Chairs, coolers, sleeping bag, air mattress, pots & pans
  • Look at some of the activities we have planned for kids and adults, below!
  • Community meals for Shabbat & Simchat Torah - we will all bring food/drink or donate towards purchasing meat for the grill
  • A generous donor has reserved the Dining Hall for us on Saturday!
  • You are welcome to bring/cook your own meals
